Installation MSIThe installation is very simple, just run the Setup.exe in the package.
Default the program dnsBrowse.exe or dnsEdit will be installed in the directory
c:\program files\Hbware\dnsBrowse. The program uses an ini-file for it's
configuration (dnsBrowse.ini). It is possible to install the program in another
directory. If the program is installed on a Netware Volume, then the program
uses the network setup start.
To install the license, select the settingsbutton on the toolbar, select the context for the license and select ok.
The program will try to find the license in the NDS, if it's not installed
the program will look in the installation directory of the program for a
dnsBrowse.lic file. If it's there, the program show the following window: Network setup.At
startup the program check from what location the program is started. Is the
installation directory a Netware volume, then the program reads the parameter
path from the section [NETWORK] in the dnsBrowse.ini file. The program will use
that path as the directory where it will put a "local" copy of the
dnsBrowse.ini file (if there is no dnsBrowse.ini on that location). MSI-network installation.Start MSI-setup, and install the program on a Netware Volume. Simple setup.
The simple setup allows you select the directory where to install the
program, the setup will create a dnsBrowse and a libs directory under the give
directory. The directory given doesn't have to exist, the program will create
it. You can also install the license in the tree(s). Program that doesn't need
a license, will not allow you to install the license. The setup will copy all
files, and will overwrite any existing file without asking! If you install more
utilities of Hbware in the same "base" directory, you can skip the installation
of the support files. The first time you have to install the support files,
otherwise the program will not run. If you select a Netware volume as the
installation directory, the program will run in the Network setup mode. This
installation procedure will not create shortcuts and menu options!
