RECREATE/MERGE LOCATOR OBJECT (DNSEDIT ONLY).

Recreate

If there is no locator-object in the tree, you can re-create a locator object. Give the context of the new-locator object. If nessessary the program will also create the DNSDHCP-GROUP gorup object. The program will search for all DNS/DHCP servers, Zones, Subnets, Pools etc in the context given in the INI-file section [TREES] and will add these to the new Locator object, and the program will update all relevant attributes of the objects involved.

Merge

If you merge several trees all with there own locator objects, you end up with more than one locator object in your tree. The standard DNS-DHCP-tool of Novell will only find one Locator object.

Before you do this, stop all DNS and DHCP servers that are involved in this operation!
Select the locator object that you want to keep and select all locator objects that you want to be merged. You don't have to merge all Locator-objects at ones, so you have to stop all you DNS and DHCP-servers.
At the bottom you can select: Remove locator and DNS-HCP_GROUP.
At OK the program will copy all the information from the Locator Object(s) to the Locator object that you want to keep, then it will update the corresponding DNS-DHCP_GROUP. And it will update the (NCP) Server-Object, with the new locator-object dn.

The program will not merge:

- DHCP-option table (user defined cfg-parameters).
- Exluded and Included MAC-addresses.
- Global DHCP options.
