What's wrong - 2007/04/16 21:23
The sample below was a question I got by email. I think it is a more common problem. So I have posted the question and "solution" here.
The names of the objects are changed.
I'm trying to do a test restore but I get this message: Process: .MYHP4200-PCL.iPrint.HBW Link/Rights can't be set, object doesn't exists Rest: .MYHP4200-PCL.iPrint.HBW
The error log looks like this: Start Backup:2007-04-16 13:38:20 Error getting link information object: Name.eDir2.Servers.HBW
The problem during the backup is something I'm working on. Question: Is the object Name.eDir2.Servers.HBW the master server? Is so then I do not have a solution for the moment. This isn't really a big problem because you can not restore the server object, you have to install the eDirectory on the server and not by restoreing the server object.
The problem with the restore of the .MYHP4200-PCL.iPrint.HBW object. Some other object was pointing to the .MYHP4200-PCL.iPrint.HBW object, during the restore you have selected the "restore links too". One (or more) objects don't exists anymore, so the links from those objects can't be restored.
If you rightclick on the .MYHP4200-PCL.iPrint.HBW object and select "link info" the program shows all the links to the object. Is there an object that points to the .MYHP4200-PCL.iPrint.HBW that doesn't exists anymore? If not please inform met, this shouldn't happen.
