User space restrictions - 2003/09/19 18:25 I can't get the option for "Minimun value unless user has more" to work. I ran Homes to set home dir attribute and set file owner, then ran Homes to set user space restriction - this worked. When I select minimum value the space does not increase.

Test - my account has a restriction of 20000KB. I copy 5000KB of files to my home dir leaving me with 15000KB free space. I run Homes with "minimum value" still set to 20000KB and nothing happens. I thing the space restriction should now be 25000KB. Also if I use "Value is minimum free space" nothing happens.

I have restored a large user volume (NSS) and need to reset disk space restrictions. I would like to set the restrictions to 20000KB then run Homes again giving each user 20000KB more that they are currently using.

There was a problem in the routine "Value is minimum free space" this is now fixed in version 2.18.

The rountine "Minium value unless user has already more" does only set the restriction if a user has a restriction. (works as designed).

You can use the options: "Fixed value" or "set if user has no space restriction set" for an initial setup of the restrictions. The last option is not yet available for HomesPlus.exe, I will soon post a beta-version of HomesPlus with this function.

The price is around $28 for a unlimited users and for 5 trees license.

Minimum Space - 2003/09/22 10:35 I downloaded the 2.18 code and will give it a try. One more question: Does the Plus version have the same problem or is the Value is Miminum Free Space or has it been fixed?
