Location/Department Fields - 2008/09/03 14:46 I've already created my Users/Home Directorys. Mass user was great!

Now I want to go back and populate a field or two. I'm trying to put the year that our students graduate into either the Location or Department field, but I don't see an option for either of those two fields when linking the attribute to the csv using the CFL Wizard.

Any ideas?

Re:Location/Department Fields and UniqueID - 2008/09/03 20:58 Hello,

In the wizard, on the page Attribute/Column mapping you have to right-click on the correct row in the the column Attribute/Info (you have to select a csv-file or this page will be blanc).
The program will show a "menu". Select "Attributes", the program shows a list of available attributes.
Select the L or OU (or any other attribute) by double click on the attribute name.
The program will show the attribute name.

This way you can add all attributes you want.

UNIQUEID
========
If you want to set the uniqueID to the CN of the user, you have to edit the generated CFL-file.
e.g. The CN is in column 4 of the CSV-file and you want to set the uniqueID.

Add the line [ATTRIBUTES] at the bottom if it is not there already.
Add the line uniqueID=4 below the [ATTRIBUTES] line.

[ATTRIBUTES]
uniqueID=4

I will add an extra option in the program where you can set the uniqueID to CN without updating the CFL-file.

Re:Location/Department Fields and UniqueID - 2008/09/03 21:25 Its not the UniqueID so much thats the problem, but "Department" (not "departmentnumber") and "Location" are missing from the list of attributes.

If those two items could be added, that would be great!!

Thanks!

Re:Location/Department Fields and UniqueID - 2008/09/03 22:13 Hello

I have uploaded a zip-file that contains a rtf-file with some screendumps. I hope this will help.

If you do not have the L and/or OU in the attributelist (it should be there) please let me know.

OU = Department

Re:Location/Department Fields and UniqueID - 2008/09/04 17:45 Yes that's correct

I think these attributes names are inherited from the X500 standard.

Code:

C-One/iManager  -> eDirectory name Location        -> L Department      -> OU uid             -> uniqueID Qualifier       -> General Qualifier Middle Initials -> Initials Prefix          -> personalTitle First (name)    -> Given Name Last            -> Surname Suffix          -> General Qualifier Fax             -> Facsimile Telephone Number Phone           -> Telephone Number
