Just found the product the other day. A bit of background on our setup. New Student or Faculty member is hired/enrolls, HR system generates an LDIF file that is imported into eDirectory through LDAP and the userID's are generated, then as admin's we have to go through, add home directories, memberships, etc. Your program has been a life saver on the 100 accounts that I would have had to do by hand for home directories so far.
One issue with the way we are setup, is the students are in their own container, each admin in our decentralized setup here has rights to manipulate those ID's, but to give a specific student a home directory, currently with your product I've had to add them to a group. So for say my english department I have 20 TA's in a group, just pointed it to that group and told it to make their home directories, this is an OK implementation, but we plan on just doing aliases for each of them, it would be nice if I could check a little box that would get it to look for Users and Aliases, instead of just Users.
The reason we are doing the aliases is then we can just do a list of users in a container, send that off to the department and say that this is everyone we have for their department, are there any corrections that need made. With the aliases there we'll also get the TA's and GA's.
Anyway, if it is already possible and I'm just missing something let me know, if it is not already there and is something you could add I'd love to see it. If you need any testing done let me know. Will email you this also.
