Connection to mailbox failed - 2007/07/13 10:36 Hi,

Trialling the 5.0.39 beta release.

Great product & is helping me whilst setting up a new Groupwise 7 system.

However, after a days use I keep getting "Connection to mailbox failed" when accessing any mailbox - even my own.

If I roll-back the machine & re-install it works again for a while. Is this a limitation of the Beta? When is there likely to be a full release?

Re:Connection to mailbox failed - 2007/07/13 20:27 Hi,

Just tested it but can't reproduce it at the moment. Can you tell me which version of GW 7 you are using:
Plain GW7? SP1? SP1hotfix?
It it the english or multilanguage version?

Have you tried to reboot the pc en does it work then?

Some info:
The current version uses the groupwise client for accessing the groupwise database(s). This is not a stable interface, I have planned to migrate the tool to "SOAP". That should give more stability.
It is a hell of a job to do this migration.

I will try to fix the "connection problem".

Re:Connection to mailbox failed - 2007/07/16 10:28 Hi Hans,
It's GW7 with sp1 & hotfix 1a (multilanguage)!

Thanks for the note about using the local GW client, as I normally run in caching mode. Set the mode back to "online" & I've not had any more problems with mailbox access.
