A little enhancement to DNSBrowse - 2003/06/18 04:52 I don't know if this request can be useful for others, so...
Could you add the Description field in DHCP window also?
We use it for remarks about reservations or exclusions.
And another help: how can I install/copy a shared and correctly running installation of DNSBrowse on a network server (NW, of course!)
Until now I've installed the program locally, then copied exe, pdf and ini inside a network drive... But don't know if there is any drawback.

Thank in advance

Wishes for DHCP-browse. - 2003/06/19 14:27 I'm working on a new version of DHCP-browse, one of the new features is the description for the DNS and DHCP records (also in the free version).

I'm also working on an option for changing a dymanic record into a "static" record, without retyping every thing, this will be a licensed version.

Starting/stopping DNS/DHCP services on the server.

the new version will be available in a week or two.

How to install the program on a network-drive. - 2003/06/19 14:43 At the moment the procedure for installing the program on a network drive.

Install the program locally.

Option 1
Copy the program directory to the network directory.
Copy all the the files and subdirectories of C:program fileshbwarelibs
to the directory on the network. So Hbw.dll must be in the same directory as the dnsbrowse.exe is.

There is only one problem the file dnsbrowse.ini will be shared, I don't know if this will be a problem, the users need WRF-rights on the network directory. Maybe there is also a problem with the HBW.ini-file.

Another installation option is:

e.g.
<network directory>dnsbrowseall the file of the local program directory
<network directory>libsall the files and subdirectories of the corresponding directory on the c:-drive.

This procedure can be used for all the program's on the website.

I will look into network versions of the program, maybe I switch to registry settings instead of ini-files.

I hope this will help you, if you have any questions please drop them here.
