Issues when moving home dirs - 2005/08/09 10:04 Hi Hans,

I have some problems when I move users' home directories.
First; the directory doesn't always get moved, MassUser copies all files but doesn't delete all of the original files. I don't know if this has to do with wether delete/rename inhibit is set on files, but that should be possible to solve, I think
Second; When I move users' home directories, the directory quota doesn't get moved, so the new directory doesn't have any quota. This can be set afterwards, but some users may have a non-standard quota size, which I don't always remember to check before I move directories.
I'm using 3.04.05, and haven't tested this on earlier versions (yet).

Regards, Per

Re:Issues when moving home dirs - 2005/08/09 16:18 I have now tested with 3.04.02, and the problems are there as well.

It seems that some folders, which are part of the user's roaming profile, are write-protected and these doesn't get moved, although they do get copied.

Re:Issues when moving home dirs - 2005/08/10 12:05 Also, when using v3.04.05 to copy/move folders, I think the program should automatically select "Add CN" (like earlier versions did), or disable the feature since the folder is to be copied/moved, not renamed.

I didn't realise this at first, and all folders was placed wrong...

Re:Issues when moving home dirs - 2005/08/31 12:12 Have you had a look at this yet, Hans?

Re:Issues when moving home dirs - 2005/09/02 09:46 I do not have roaming profiles myself, can you give me the flag/attributes that are set for the directories that can't be deleted?

In the next version I hava added an option for preserving the directory quota.

Re:Issues when moving home dirs - 2005/09/08 11:27 I just tested 3.04.06 and the quota support works fine.

The folder structure that remains on the original position only has normal Windows write protect set on it. If I uncheck the 'write protect' attribute on the homedir before moving it, then it works.
