Find obsolete directories? (Newbie question) - 2003/11/24 10:13 Hi all,

I found this tool and it seems to be just what we need in our school environment.

I was a little interested in the function "Find obsolete Home directories on volume" but can't seem to get it to work properly. I'm getting the message "XYZ is not a valid homedirectory in the selection" on every user. What am I doing wrong? Or did I misunderstand the function, I thought it was a way to find home directories without a valid user?

Thanks in advance! Oh, BTW, I'm using the demo version.

Regards, Per

Problem with obsolete home directories. - 2003/11/24 18:19 Do you have a license or do you run without a license (max 5 users)?

I haven't test the program with the no-license option, that will probably go wrong (there are only 5 users in the list), I will do a test as soon as possible. You can get a full-function free 2 week trial license, send me your company/organisation name and the treename.

If you do have a (trial)license the program should work, so can you save your program settings (the red floppy button on the toolbar) and save it to something other than default.set (e.g. problem.set) and send me a copy of that file? (please do this in either case).

For your info: Somewhere this week there will be a new version (2.19), there are no changes to the find obsolete directory routine.

Re: Find obsolete directories? (Newbie question) - 2003/11/25 04:23 Thanks for the quick answer!

Yes, I'm running the program without a license, maybe that's where the problem is. We're thinking about buying this program (you should've received an email by now), so I won't be needing the 2 week trial license, but thanks anyway!
