 Creating Users from txt file... - 2006/09/14 00:24 I simply need to create users from a text file. The file contains "username,lastname,firstname,password". I would like to manually direct the creation to a specific container during the create. How do i do this simple task? Best Regards, Tim

Each file would be a grade level, and if we could select it and say "all these users go here" that would be perfect. Can you answer the first part of my question, though?

Sorry for forgetting your first question.

You do have a csv-file with the data for the new users. You need to create a CFL-file, see also manual page 14 (the doc is a PDF-file in the program directory) and some posts in this forum.
(The manual is somewhat outdated, but the definition for the CFL-file is still the same).
There is a "bug" in the manual. You can set the password from a csv-file, in the manual the "attributes" PW and GWPW are given. This should be password and gw-password.

For supporting "manual" context, you need to set the contextfl to 4. For every user there will be a popup to set the context manually. This will be supported from version 3.06.05.

In addition to this, there will also be an other extention:
The program reads the CFL-file, buts does not read the info from the CSV-file, but the program creates an input-form for all the attributes in the CFL-file after the fields are set, the program uses these values for the creation of the user and/or update.

This could be usefull for creation accounts during the year with the same settings are the orginal bulk creation. Hans Boone
